I'm a portrait photographer whose work you can see at Portraits by Julie.  I am also employed by a photography studio in Logan Square as a Photo Editor, and love that we get to listen to all kinds of music there.  

I love all the new music I am exposed to as a DJ and volunteer with CHIRP, new bands, cool shows in different venues and fun music-related events.   

A journalism major in college I worked at WOI the public radio station in Ames as a producer and loved it - doing mostly features.   The music available through CHIRP is unending and fantastic!

My musical tastes are a mix of R&B, Country and brazilian and a little jazz and gospel. Harry Chapin was my first concert - so I have a thing for singer/songwriters of any genre.  

I used to live in Austin, TX and loved how there is live music everywhere - in the airport, at the grocery - so fun.  Lots of talent.  Happy to be back in Chicago now taking photos and spinning tunes.
